Match Stages August 18, 2007 Stages may not be shot in the order they are presented on this webpage. Stage 1 "Gunfight at Harmonville" from "Open Range" Rifle 10 + 2 round reload Handgun 10 rounds To start the stage say your line "You the one killed our friend"? At the buzzer draw your handgun and put one round into Butler's forehead. Then one round into Baxter. Shoot the other three hired guns in any order. Now one of Baxter's men are coming in from the side. Draw your other handgun and put five rounds into him. Holster your handgun and move to the livery stable where you have staged your rifle. Baxter, though wounded, is still putting up a fight and you take several shots at thim as he scurries from cover to cover. Shoot the knock down target and then the nine knock down targets not hitting the swinging gong. No penalty for hitting the gong. Now one of Baxter's men is shooting at you from the street. He's hiding in an entryway so you shoot him in the foot and then in the back as he hobbles away. Off the clock reload two rounds and shoot the knock down on the rolling target and drop the weight into the box. Ten second bonus for dropping the weight into the box. No penalty for a miss.
"Pirates of the Swan River " (Stage 5 at Cody's Wild West Shootout 2007) Rifle - 8 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - 6+ rounds Stage Set: Rifle/Pistol - 4 rectangles or circles Shotgun -3 circles or rectangles 2 hay bales. Story: Whilst makin' evenin' rounds, a drunken river pirate sends a load of buckshot your way then ducks into the local saloon. Your're the only deputy around, so ya goota go get 'im, but hafta get through some other drunken pirates first�.so much for a peaceful night. Start: Start standing at position 1 with your rifle at cowboy port arms. Pistols holstered and shotgun down range on the hay bale at position 2. When ready exclaim " Arrrrrh, not the pirates again" At the Beep: Double tap sweep the 4 rifle targets R1-R4 starting on the right. With the rifle action open, move down range to the hay bale and exchange rifle for shotgun. Shoot the three shotgun targets SG1- SG3 twice in any order, but no double taps. Place shotgun on the hay bale and draw your pistol(s). Shoot the 4 (now) pistol targets P1-P4 in a progressive sweep starting on the right (1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, 4 on 4)
"Snakes! I Hate Snakes" (Bodie August 2007) Rifle - 9 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - 4+ rounds Stage Set: Rifle - 3 circles / rectangles Pistol - 4 circles Shotgun - a bucket of "snakes" Story: You're walking your fence line and you come upon a passel of dangerous vipers. You lift your scattergun and blast away. Start: Rifle staged in the gun rack, the pistols are holstered, your shotgun at cowboy port arms. Procedure: To start the timer yell "SNAKES"! At the beep and from the hip, fire up to 4 shots to move the "snakes" over the line, any left, you can shoot from the shoulder. Set the shotgun down, pick up your rifle and engage the 3 rifle targets R1-R3 with a left to right single tap sweep followed by a double tap sweep also left to right (for 9 rounds). Place rifle back in rack and draw your pistol(s) and shoot each pistol, target P1-P4, at least twice.
"5 for 5" (Bodie Camp August 2007) Ammo Count: Rifle - 10 + 4 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - 4 rounds Stage Set: Rifle - "Texas Star" and 5 small knockdown rectangles (Gus' targets) Pistol - 5 circles Shotgun - 2 re-setting pepper poppers 1 gun stand for shooting position. Story: Those Hellgate boys are at it again. They've been "borrowing" my cattle and forgetting to return them. The horses are disappearing and the sheep are acting flirty! What's a cowboy to do? Start: rifle and shotgun are staged in the gun rack. Your pistols are holstered and arms folded in front. Procedure: To start the timer, exclaim "Where's my cows?" At the beep, draw your pistol(s) and engage the 5 pistol targets P1 - P5 starting on the center target P3, then the inside targets P2 and P4, then the outside targets P1 and P5. Holster 1st pistol and with the second, start on the outside targets P1 and P5, then the inside targets P2 and P4, then the center target P3 last. Holster pistol(s) and pick up your rifle and start with a shot on the Texas Star. The 2nd round on one of the knockdowns R1-R5, 3rd on the Star, alternate,etc. The knockdowns can be engaged in any order. At the end, any target(s) left are re-engaged with a reload of up to 4 rounds. Place rifle back in rack, pick up your shotgun and alternate the two shotgun targets SG1 and SG2 for 4 rounds, no double taps.
Gophers! Under no circumstances do you want to shoot your prize winning punkin. It�s a sure winner at the county fair and first prize is $20.00. Twenty second penalty for any HIT on the pumpkin. (only one penalty per stage) Avoid your wife�s tomatoes,. Ten second penalty for any tomatoes knocked off the plant. Finally, there is the large Morel mushroom you�ve been saving for that steak you plan to grill Saturday night. Ten point penalty for hitting the mushroom. Pistols loaded 5 rounds each, hammers on empty chamber, holstered. Rifle loaded with 10 rounds hammer on the empty chamber staged on gun rest.. Shotgun open and empty, staged on the rest with six shells to be loaded from your person. Start holding the hoe in both hands. Say your line �Eat lead you varmints!� At the buzzer place the hoe in the gun rack and using the firearms in any order you wish you commence to shooting gophers. There will be a 5 second penalty for each gopher left standing when you are done shooting. Once you begin shooting a firearm you must continue shooting it until all it�s rounds are fired. A gopher knocked down in any way is a kill. Hits on gophers that do not knock them down are not kills. If, after all the gophers are dead you have any rounds left shoot at the long range gong. A five second bonus for each hit. All shooting must be done standing from within the rectangle marked on the ground. Irregardless of what class you are competing in you may shoot the handgun using two hands. ![]() Home |
