Match Stages

Stages may not be shot in the order they are presented on this webpage.

All stages but the gophers will be shot on the target setup shown below.



Stage 1

"Claim Jumpers"


Ammo Count:

Rifle -10 rounds + 1 for reload
Pistol - 10 rounds
Shotgun - 4+ rounds

Stage Set:

Story: You've been working your claim in the Little Rockies, trying to scratch out enough pay dirt to buy a bit of tonsil balm at the local watering hole when you catch a couple of men "high grading" on your claim. You grab your guns and commence to protecting your claim.

Procedure: To start the timer yell "Don't jump my Claim". With your first pistol shoot the pistol targets p1, p3, p1, p3, p1.

With your second pistol shoot the pistol targets p2, p2, p2, p2, p2.

Grab your shotgun and shoot the shotguns targets left, right, right left.

With your rifle shoot all four rifle targets at least twice each.

Reload one in the rifle and shoot the long range target. Five second penalty for a miss and ten second bonus for a hit.

Stage 2

"Rainbow"

Ammo Count:

Rifle - 10 rounds
Pistol - 10 rounds
Shotgun - 4+ rounds

Story: You've just had a busy evening at the Rocky Mountain Roadhouse and decide to go see the Fourth of July parade in town. After a few shots of Jamison you spot a clown selling colored balloons and decide to have some fun with him. This riles up the crowd and you have to shoot your way out of town.

The Texas Star has it's targets painted black, white, red, green and yellow.

Reach into the box and draw out a washer. The color of the washer indicates the color of the first target you knock off the star.

To indicate shooter is ready say: "Balloons! My favorite targets!". At the Buzzer grab your rifle and shoot the targets off the star starting with the target that matches the color of the washer you drew. Continue shooting until all the targets are off the star. Dump and remaining rounds on the long range target. 5 second bonus for each hit, no penalty for misses.

(attention scorers. Do not count misses on the Texas Star. Only targets left on the star after all ten shot are fired will be counted as misses)

With your shotgun shoot the two resetting shotgun poppers left right or right left.

Place shotgun back in the rack and using your first pistol engage the 3 pistol targets p1, p1, p2, p3, p3.

Pick up your shotgun and shoot the 2 re-setting shotgun pepper poppers left right or right left.

Place shotgun back in the rack and using your other pistol engage the three pistol targets p1, p1, p2, p3, p3.

Stage 3

"Hellraisers From Hellgate"
Ammo Count:

Rifle - 10 rounds + 2 for reload
Pistol - 10 rounds
Shotgun - 4+ rounds

Story: You're passing by one of the saloons in town when that rowdy bunch from Hellgate Camp start raisin' a ruckus. They're shootin' the ceiling, the windows and even at you!. Well, you'll have to quiet them down some.

Procedure:

To start the buzzer yell "Deadeye You Dirty Rat!

With the shotgun shoot the two shotgun targets left, right, left, right.

With your first pistol engage the three pistol targets in the order p1, p2, p3, p2, p1.

With the second pistol engate the three pistol targets in the order p3, p2, p1, p2, p3.

Using the rifle shoot the knock down on the swinging target to release the swinger. Shoot the knock down targets. No penalty for hitting the swinger.

When rifle is empty off the clock reload two and shoot the knock down to release the rolling target. Shoot the roller to drop the weight and knock down as many pins as possible. One second bonus for each pin knocked down and 15 second for a strike.

Stage 4

"Nabobs From Noxon"
Ammo Count:

Rifle - 10 rounds + 1 for reload
Pistol - 10 rounds
Shotgun - 2+ rounds

That bunch of rowdies from Noxon is in town again drinking, carousing and annoying the sheep.
It's time to put an end to this foolishness once and for all.

To start the buzzer say your line, "Your Gonna Need a Good Lawyer".

With the shotgun shoot the two knockdown targets left to right.

Using your pistols shoot the three pistol targets p1, p1, p2, p2, p3, p3, p2, p2, p1, p1.

Nevada sweep the four rifle targets left to right/

Reload one in the rifle and shoot the long range target. Five second penalty for a miss and ten second bonus for a hit.

Stage 5

Gophers!

You�ve planted a nice garden out where the old corral was located and the turnips, carrots and beans are looking good. You head out to hoe some weeds and whoa and behold the garden has been invaded by whole passel of gophers! Since you always go heeled you commence to wipe out gophers.

Under no circumstances do you want to shoot your prize winning punkin. It�s a sure winner at the county fair and first prize is $20.00. Twenty second penalty for any HIT on the pumpkin. (only one penalty per stage) Avoid your wife�s tomatoes,. Ten second penalty for any tomatoes knocked off the plant. Finally, there is the gourd you've raised to make a bird house out of. Ten point penalty for hitting the gourd.

Pistols loaded 5 rounds each, hammers on empty chamber, holstered. Rifle loaded with 10 rounds hammer on the empty chamber staged on gun rest.. Shotgun open and empty, staged on the rest with six shells to be loaded from your person.

Start holding the hoe in both hands. Say your line �Eat lead you varmints!� At the buzzer place the hoe in the gun rack and using the firearms in any order you wish you commence to shooting gophers. There will be a 5 second penalty for each gopher left standing when you are done shooting. Once you begin shooting a firearm you must continue shooting it until all it�s rounds are fired.

A gopher knocked down in any way is a kill. Hits on gophers that do not knock them down are not kills.

If, after all the gophers are dead you have any rounds left shoot at the long range gong. A five second bonus for each hit. All shooting must be done standing from within the rectangle marked on the ground.

Irregardless of what class you are competing in you may shoot the handgun using two hands.
