Match Stages August 16, 2008 Stages may not be shot in the order they are presented on this webpage. Stage 1 "Let's Go, the Show's Over Anyway" (from the movie "A Fist Full of Dollars") Rifle - 10 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - 2+ rounds Stage Set: Rifle - 3 circles or rectangles Pistol - 5 circles Shotgun - 2 diamond SG Story: The Rojos are planning eliminate the Baxter's. They'll set the Baxter stronghold on fire and bushwhack all the members as they emerge from the burning building. The street is fill with flying insults and lead. Start: Rifle and shotgun are staged in the rack. Procedure: To start the timer say "How About a House Warming!". At the beep, draw your 1st pistol and start a double tap sweep from left or right, pistol targets P1-P5. When the 1st pistol is empty, draw your 2nd pistol and continue where you left off. Pick up your rifle and place two rounds on the left target R1, then 3 rounds on the center target R2 then 5 rounds on the right target R3. Place rifle back in rack and pick up your shotgun and knock down the two shotgun targets SG1 and SG2, must go down.
"Marisol" (from the movie "A Fist Full of Dollars") Rifle - 10 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - 6+ rounds Stage Set: Rifle - 3 circles or rectangles Pistol - 5 circles Shotgun - 2 spring loaded shotgun poppers Story: Marisol is kept against her will by Ramon Rojo in a little house at the edge of San Miguel. A half dozen of Ramon's best men keep an eye on Marisol while Ramon is out robbing a Federales gold shipment. The "man with no name" plans to free her and return her to her husband and child, but first he must deal with Ramon's men. Start: Rifle and shotgun are staged in the shooting rack. Procedure: To start the timer say "It's Time to Leave San Miguel". Pick up you rifle and engage the 4 rifle targets R1-R4 in a left to right progressive sweep (1 round on R1, 2 rounds on R2, 3 rounds on R3 and 4 rounds on R4). Place rifle back in rack and pick up your shotgun and engage the two pepper poppers three times each, alternating from either left or right side. Return the shotgun to the rack and engage the 3 pistol targets P1-P3 with 5 rounds on three targets, each target must be engaged a least once. Repeat with the second pistol.
"Henry Plummer's Message" Rifle - 10 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - 2+ rounds Stage Set: Rifle - Texas Star with box and five telegraph insulators Pistol - swinger and 9 knock down targets Shotgun - 2 knockdown SG targets Sherrif Plummer has heard some of the good citizens of Bannock, Montana Territory are beginning to question his free wheeling spending sprees considering his low sherrif's salary and think he may be playing both sides of the fence. To cowtow such thoughts he walks into the middle of town and gives those good citizens a display of his marksmanship. With your handguns, first shoot the knockdown to release the swinger then shoot the nine knock downs avoiding the swinger. No penalty for hitting the swinger. With your rifle knock the targets off the Texas Star dropping the targets into the box. Five second bonus for any targets dropped into the box. With any remaining shots knock the telegraph insulators off the cross bar. With your shotgun shoot the two shotgun targets in any order.
"Pirates of the Swan River " Rifle - 8 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - 6+ rounds Stage Set: Rifle/Pistol - 4 rectangles or circles Shotgun -3 circles or rectangles 2 hay bales. Story: Whilst makin' evenin' rounds, a drunken river pirate sends a load of buckshot your way then ducks into the local saloon. Your're the only deputy around, so ya goota go get 'im, but hafta get through some other drunken pirates first�.so much for a peaceful night. Start: Start standing at position 1 with your rifle at cowboy port arms. Pistols holstered and shotgun down range on the hay bale at position 2. When ready exclaim " Arrrrrh, not the pirates again" At the Beep: Double tap sweep the 4 rifle targets R1-R4 starting on the right. With the rifle action open, move down range to the hay bale and exchange rifle for shotgun. Shoot the three shotgun targets SG1- SG3 twice in any order, but no double taps. Place shotgun on the hay bale and draw your pistol(s). Shoot the 4 (now) pistol targets P1-P4 in a progressive sweep starting on the right (1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, 4 on 4)
Gophers! Note different scenario for gophers. There are fifteen gophers. The shotgun will not be used. The stage will be timed. Rifle - 10 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - none. You've thinned those pesky gophers out of the garden but there are still a few around. Under no circumstances do you want to shoot your prize winning punkin. It�s a sure winner at the county fair and first prize is $15.00. Fifteen second penalty for any HIT on the pumpkin. (only one penalty per stage) Avoid your wife�s tomatoes,. Five second penalty for any tomatoes knocked off the plant. Finally, there's the gourd you're going to use to build a birdhouse. Ten second penalty for hitting the gourd. Pistols loaded 5 rounds each, hammers on empty chamber, holstered. Rifle loaded with 10 rounds hammer on the empty chamber staged on gun rest.. Start holding the hoe in both hands. Say your line �Eat lead you varmints!� At the buzzer place the hoe in the gun rack and using the firearms in any order you wish you commence to shooting gophers. There will be a 5 second penalty for each gopher left standing when you are done shooting. Once you begin shooting a firearm you must continue shooting it until all it�s rounds are fired. A gopher knocked down in any way is a kill. Hits on gophers that do not knock them down are not kills. If, after all the gophers are dead you have any rounds left shoot at the long range gong. A five second bonus for each hit. All shooting must be done standing from within the rectangle marked on the ground. Irregardless of what class you are competing in you may shoot the handgun using two hands.
