Match Stages October 18, 2008 Stages may not be shot in the order they are presented on this webpage. Stage 1 "The Whole Enchalada!" Rifle -10 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - none Stage Set: Tuco, swinger target, rolling target, Texas Star and ten knock downs. Story: You've been Cowboy Action shooting all summer and it's time to show what you can do. Start: Rifle at port arms and handguns holstered. Procedure: To start the timer yell "I'll have the whole Enchalada!". At the buzzer begin shooting. Shooting the targets in any order using first your rifle and then your handguns drop Tuco, shoot the KD to release the swinger and drop the swinger into a box, bonus points will correspond with whatever box the swinger is dropped into. Shoot the KD on the rolling target to release the rolling target and drop the weight into the boxes. Once again bonus points corresponding to box into which the weight drops. Shoot the targets off the Texas Star. Knock down the ten KD targets First fire the ten rounds from your rifle from behind the rifle line. You may move along the line as long as you follow the SASS safety rules concerning movement with a firearm. After firing your rifle stage the rifle and advance to the handgun line to finish using your handgun. Once again you may move along the handgun line as long as you follow the SASS Safety Rules.
"Just Rabbits, Rats and Rascals" ( Bodie Camp Feb. 24, 2008") Shotgun: 12 + rounds Stage Set: 4 pipes, 2 clay pigeon holders, 4 diamond knockdowns, 2 re-setting SG poppers. Mark locations for firing positions with spray paint or logs or what have you. Canvas bag for SG rounds. Story: You spot some rabbits around the cabin, you see some rats in the grain bin and your second cousin on your momma's side is in your sour mash. Now you know what to do with that scatter gun of yours and 12 rounds of assorted shot shells. Start: Shotgun at cowboy port arms. Bring lots of shells and place them in the canvas shoulder bag supplied. To start timer: Starting at position 1 exclaim in your best Elmer Fudd voice, "Wabbits and wats and wascals". At the beep, break the two clay birds. Advance to position 2 with shotgun action open, then load and knock down the two diamonds. Advance to position 3: 2 pipes, position 4: 2 diamonds, position 5: 2 pipes and last at position 6, 2 rounds on the resetting poppers.
"Pecos Bill Rides to the Rescue ( Stage 2, NW Regional SASS Championship 2008) Rifle - 10 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - 6+ rounds Stage Set: Rifle/Pistol - 4 rectangles or circles Shotgun -4 circles 2 gun racks. Story: While traveling through the desert on his horse Widowmaker, Pecos Bill stumbled upon poor Daniel Hackett being accosted and robbed by two mangy varmints. Pecos yelled out "I ought to plug you two right now, but I make it a rule never to kill a man on Sunday! Start: Shotgun staged at position 1 with your rifle at port arms. When ready exclaim "But Today is Saturday!". At the beep engage the rifle targets in a progressive sweep (1 round on 1, 2 rounds on 2, 3 rounds on 3 and 4 rounds on 4) from either direction. Knock down the shotgun targets SG1-SG4, anywhere between position 1 and position 2. At position 2, engage the pistol targets with the same progressive sweep.

Story: Like all the "Big Men" of the Old West, Pecos Bill battled the villains most ordinary folks faced in their real lives. Pecos Bill claimed to be a ring-tailed roarer. He could draw faster, shoot straighter, ride harder and drink longer than any man alive. He was the rip-snortenest cowboy that ever rode north, south, east or west of the Rio Grande, just ask him. B Start: Shotgun at position A or C, shooter at the door with rifle at port arms Procedure:. When ready say your line "What do you mean Pecos who!" At the beep, Nevada sweep the rifle targets through the window. Move with your rifle and then, in any order (guns or position): Nevada sweep the pistol targets from positions A and C. Knock down the two shotgun targets each from positions A and C.

In the Llano Estacado (the Staked Plains of W. Texas and SW. New Mexico), the Comanche don't take lightly your crossing their hunting grounds and you find you'll have to defend yourself. Start: Shotgun staged at position 1. Rifle staged at position 2, the pistols are holstered. Procedure: At position 1: To start the timer yell "We Got Trouble". Draw 1st pistol and engage the 3 pistol targets P1-P3 with an Arizona sweep, 5 rounds on 3 targets. Holster and pick up your shotgun and alternate on the shotgun targets SG1 and SG2 with 4 rounds, no double taps. Take your shotgun (pointing safely down range) and move to position 2. Place shotgun in rack and pick up your rifle and shoot the three rifle targets R1-R3 three times each. Place rifle in rack, draw 2nd pistol and repeat the Arizona sweep on targets P4 - P6.
