Welcome to the Second Annual Jose Cuervo Shootout!

Stage 1
"The Deadly Tortilla"


Ammo Count:
9 rifle
10 pistol
4+ shotgun

Story:

We all remember the scene in the Magnificent Seven when James Colburn (Reb) in was challenged to a fight with his knife and the other man (Wallis) with a gun. Colburn does not say anything just points and nods.

In reality, it was not Reb with a knife, but Jose with a tortilla. A very special and deadly tortilla (not unlike Odjob's hat in Goldfinger)

Start:

Standing by a fence with your shotgun (action open) at port arms, pistols are holstered loaded with 5 rounds each, hammer down on an empty chamber, Rifle staged on a horse, hammer down on an empty chamber.

Procedure:

When ready, point a finger and nod your head. At the signal, throw the deadly tortilla. Shoot the shotgun targets in any order. Place your shotgun on the horse and with the rifle single tap sweep the targets Left to Right then double tap sweep the targets Left to Right. Return the rifle to the horse and with your pistols engage the targets with a 3-4-3 sweep.



Stage 2
"Jose Meets Calvera and his Gang"


Ammo Count:
9 Rifle
10 Pistol
4+ Shotgun

Story:

Calvera and his men ride into town and Jose and you meet with them. You tell Calvera that " We deal in lead" and Jose tells them to "Ride on". This starts a great gunfight.

Start:

Start standing by the horse, pistols holstered each loaded with 5 rounds. Rifle and shotgun staged on the horse.

Procedure:

When ready say "We deal in lead, ride on" At the signal, draw your first pistol and shoot P1, P3 and triple tap P2, then repeat with the second pistol.
Holster and with the rifle triple tap sweep the rifle targets. Return the rifle to the horse and pick up the shotgun and knockdown the shotgun targets.



Stage 3
"Jose is good with a shotgun"


A Speed Stage

Ammo Count:
10 + shotgun

Jose likes to show off his skill with firearms, and this time it is with the shotgun.

Start standing behind the fence shotgun at port arms, action open.

When ready say, "Viva Tequila" Shoot all 10 targets.



Stage 4
"They Haven't Gone"


Ammo Count:
10 Rifle
10 Pistol
4+ Shotgun

Story:

Jose and his men are celebrating their victory over Calvera and his gang when shots ring out.

Start:

Standing by the door, hands on your glass of tequila. Pistols are holstered with 5 rounds each, rifle and shotgun are staged on the bar.

Procedure:
When ready say "They haven't gone yet." Pick up your rifle and Nevada sweep the center targets and then sweep all five rifle targets. With the first pistol Nevada sweep the pistol targets avoiding the white target. With the second pistol put five rounds on the white target. Holster and pick up the shotgun and shoot all the knockdowns.



Stage 5
"You came back! To a place like this! Why?
A man like you! Why?"

Story:
Calvera thinks he has won, but Jose and his men sneak back into town, and proceed to roust all of Calvera's men out of the village. Pistols are holstered, with hammer down on an empty chamber; rifle is staged on the table.

Start:

Start standing by the table with both hands your shotgun.

Procedure:
When ready say "Why?" At the signal, knockdown all of the shotgun targets. Stage the shotgun and pick up your rifle, shoot the rifle targets twice starting and ending on the white target. Restage your rifle and with your first pistol from left to the right, single tap the first target, double tap the second and single tap the third and the fourth target (P1, P2 double-tap, P3, P4). With the second pistol sweep right to left ( P4, P3, P2 double-tap, P1)



Stage 6
"Stage 6 Title"


A Speed Stage
Jose likes to show his skill with a rifle.

Ammo count:
10 rifle

Standing behind the table with your rifle staged on the table with the action closed hammer down on an empty chamber and your hands on your hat. At the signal pick up the rifle and double-tap the rifle targets.



Stage 7
"We Deal In Lead, Friend"

Ammo Count:
Rifle - 10 rounds
Pistol - 10 rounds
Shotgun - 4+ rounds

Stage Set:
Pistol - 2 circles and 1 rectangle
Rifle - 4 rectangles and 2 knock down "hat" targets
Shotgun - 4 knock down shotgun targets.
Gun rack

Story: Calvera's bandits have ridden into the farm village expecting to take what they want but the villagers have planned a "warm welcome" for them with the guidance of the seven Nort� Americanos.

Start: Shotgun and rifle are staged in the shooting rack. Six guns are loaded with 5 rounds.

Procedure: To start the timer say "We Deal In Lead, Friend" At the beep pick up you rifle and double tap sweep the 4 rifle targets R1, R2, R3 and R4 from either direction. With the last 2 rounds knock the hats off the bandits, R5 and R6 (a 5 second bonus for each hat knocked over, no bonus for hitting the square part of the target and the hat falls over). Put rifle back in rack and draw 1st pistol and shoot the 3 pistols targets P1-P3 in a 2-1-2 sweep from left to right. Holster and draw 2nd pistol and sweep the 3 pistols targets right to left in a 2-1-2 sweep. Holster and pick up your shotgun and knock down the 4 shotgun targets SG1-SG4 from either direction.



Stage 8
"We Deal In Lead, Too!"

Rifle - 10 rounds
Pistol - 10 rounds
Shotgun - 4+ rounds

Stage Set:
Pistol - 2 circles and 1 rectangle
Rifle - 4 rectangles and 2 knock down "hat" targets
Shotgun - 4 knock down shotgun targets.
Gun rack

Story: The bandits have snuck back into the farmer's village and surprise the Seven. Calvera sends them off with a promise to return their guns if they don't come back. What do you think the Magnificent Seven would do?

Start: Shotgun and rifle are staged in the shooting rack. Six guns are loaded with 5 rounds.

Procedure: To start the timer repeat James Coburn's line "Nobody Takes My Guns, Nobody" At the beep, pick up you shotgun and knock down the 4 shotgun targets SG1-SG4. Return shotgun to rack, pick up your rifle and Nevada sweep the 4 rifle targets R1-R4, starting on the left. Return rifle to rack, draw your 1st pistol and Nevada sweep the 3 pistol targets P1-P3 starting on the left. Holster and with your 2nd pistol Nevada sweep the pistol targets starting on the right.

Stage 9
"The Reception Committee Is Forming"

(Speed Stage)

Ammo Count:
Pistol - 10 rounds

Stage Set: Pistol- 3 large rectangles, table.

Story: Rick, Ben and their new side kick Jose Cuervo volunteer to take a deceased Mexican to the town's all white cemetery. As they drive the Hurst up the hill, they're met at the cemetery entrance by six armed men. One of them says "Get back down the hill" and starts to draw his six gun. Jose pulls his pistols and shoots the guns out of their hands. (Okay, okay�.. shooting guns out of the bad guy's hand is from "Rustlers' Rhapsody" 1985 with Tom Berenger)

Place pistols on the table. When ready say "The Reception Committee Is Forming". At the beep, pick up the first pistol and place 3 rounds on target P1 and 1 round each on P2 and P3 (left to right). Place pistol back on table, pick up second pistol and from the Right repeat a 3-1-1 sweep.
