"As Simple as Black and White"

Ammo Count:
Rifle - 10 rounds

Shotgun - 4 rounds

Stage Set:
Texas Star, KD and releasing roller, 4 pipe targets for rifle, a total of 11 targets.
KD to release swinger with release target and 9 KD targets for handgun.
Four KD shotgun targets.

Your hanging out in Tom Nutall's #10 Saloon in Deadwood when that droop eyed hooplehead Jack McCall comes in and starts disparaging your marksmanship abilities. Soon his taunting becomes intolerable so you challenge him to a bet. You claim you can knock down eleven rifle targets with ten shots.

What he doesn't notice is the clothes line and bag of clothes pins hanging on a roller on the line.

From position one with your rifle knock down the eleven rifle targets. The Texas Star and pipe targets are painted four black and five white. The KD for the roller and the rolling target are painted red. You must begin with either a black or white target. Once you knock down the first target you must knock down all the targets of that color before moving to targets of the other color. At any point after knocking down the first target you may shoot the red KD to release the roller and then shoot the red roller target to release the drop weight. The KD to release the roller and the rolling target are targets. The roller must be hit and the weight dropped to count as a hit. If the weight drops off at the end of it's run without the release being shot it is not a hit.

To shoot this stage clean you will have to knock over one of the pipes with the weight dropped from the roller.

Move to position 2 and with your handguns shoot the KD to release the swinger and then shoot the nine KD targets. Hits on the swinging gong are not penalties.

Use your shotgun to knock down the four KD targets. No reloads.

Only targets knocked down will be counted as hits. These are the five targets on the Texas Star, the four pipes, the roller KD and the roller to release the weight, the KD to release the swinging gong, the nine KD's and the four shotgun targets.

Stage 5

"Gophers in the Garden"

( NOTE! The gopher stage will not be timed. Every shooter will be given a time of 60 seconds. So your score will not depend upon shooting fast but rather shooting accurately.

Ammo:
Rifle - ten rounds
Handguns - ten rounds
Shotgun - 6 rounds

Youve planted a nice garden out where the old corral was located and the turnips, carrots and beans are looking good. You head out to hoe some weeds and whoa and behold the garden has been invaded by whole passel of gophers! Since you always go heeled you commence to wipe out gophers.

Under no circumstances do you want to shoot your prize winning punkin. Its a sure winner at the county fair and first prize is $15.00. Fifteen second penalty for any HIT on the pumpkin. (only one penalty per stage) Avoid your wifes tomatoes,. Five second penalty for any tomatoes knocked off the plant. Finally, there is the large gourd youve been saving to build a birdhouse. Ten point penalty for hitting the gourd.

Pistols loaded 5 rounds each, hammers on empty chamber, holstered. Rifle loaded with 10 rounds hammer on the empty chamber staged on gun rest.. Shotgun open and empty, staged on the rest with six shells to be loaded from your person.

Start holding the hoe in both hands. Say your line Eat lead you varmints! At the buzzer place the hoe in the gun rack and using the firearms in any order you wish you commence to shooting gophers. There will be a 5 second penalty for each gopher left standing when you are done shooting. Once you begin shooting a firearm you must continue shooting it until all its rounds are fired.

A gopher knocked down in any way is a kill. Hits on gophers that do not knock them down are not kills.

If, after all the gophers are dead you have any rounds left shoot at the bonus target. A five second bonus for each hit. All shooting must be done standing from within the rectangle marked on the ground.

Irregardless of what category you are competing in you may shoot the handgun using two hands.
