Match Stages October 16, 2010 These are the same stages we had scheduled for our September match which we cancelled due to rain. If you want to practice the Texas Star use the link below. Texas Star Webpage Stage 1 "BUFFALO BILL'S CHALLENGE" Rifle - 10 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - 4+ rounds Targets: Rifle, Texas Star, five KD pipes, bonus target. Shotgun: 2 resetting KDs. Handgun: 3 targets. Buffalo Bill and his Wild West Show are in town and Buffalo Bill has heard that your are quite a shot and would like to challenge you to gentleman's Demonstration of Shooting Prowess. You accept and show up at the arena at the appointed time. A large crowd has gathered to whiteness one of the greatest demonstrations of shooting skill the old west has ever see. You and Bill have shot Silver Dollars out of the air, Billiard balls off various props and dead center shots in playing cards, Bill using his favorite rifle and you favorite your revolvers. Both of you have tied and it's time to move on to the final challenge. To make it more difficult, the last competition will be a three-gun event, involving pistols, rifles and shotguns. Here you must use all three types of firearms in a specific order. Included in this competition is the dreaded Texas Star, that five armed spinning target of trouble. Time will be important and one of the spectators will be keeping track of the time with his brand new Dollar Ingersal Watch. Starting at position one the rifle at port arms say your line "Let the competition begin!". At the buzzer shoot the Texas Star and the five KD pipes in any order. At any time you can drop a Texas Star target on the rolling target release cable and the rolling gong will knock over the five KD pipe targets. When you have all the targets off the Texas Star and the five pipe targets down you may use any remaining rounds to shoot the bonus target for a 3 second bonus for each hit on the bonus target, no penalty for misses. Draw your first pistol, from left to right, put one shot on the first target, three shots on the second target, and one shot on the third target. Draw your second pistol and starting from the right, put two shots on the first target, one shot on the second target and two shots on the third. Shoot the four shotgun targets in any order. Only Texas Star targets left or KD pipes left standing will be counted as misses for the rifle. ![]() "Don't Kiss the Girls" ( Pistol - 10 rounds Rifle - 10 rounds Shotgun - 4+ rounds Stage Set: Rifle- 4 rectangles, pistols - 5 rectangles or circles, 4 shotgun knockdowns. 1 gun rack, 1 table, beer mug. BB Story: You're visiting the Bigfork Emporium for an evening of entertainment. As your favorite waitress brings you a beer, a member of the Red Shirt gang slaps her behind and tries to kiss her. Your throw the bum out of the saloon but the other members of the gang are outside, none too pleased and a gun fight soon starts. Start at position 1, beer mug in hand. When ready say "Don't Kiss the Girls". At the beep, put the beer mug down and engage the pistol targets P1 -P5 from left or right. Repeat in same manner with second handgun. Move to position 2, pick up your rifle and shoot the rifle targets R1 - R4 in a continuous Nevada sweep. Place rifle in rack, pick up the shot gun and knock down the 4 shotgun targets SG1 - SG4
"Bumpin' the Bigelows" From a Sackett novel "The Daybreakers" by Louis L'Amour Pistol - 10 rounds Rifle - 9 rounds Shotgun - 4+ rounds Stage Set: Rifle- 3 rectangles, pistols - 5 rectangles or circles, 4 shotgun knockdowns. 1 gun rack, 1 table. Story: Tel Sackett is out working his mine claim when those good-for-nothin' Bigelows come into town and take over. To get their attention Tel takes down their tents with his rifle, then move closer to make them dance as they come out of their tents. You warn them if they have no business in town to get out now. One dumb hombre pulls a hogleg and the fight is on. Start at position 1, rifle at cowboy port arms. When ready say "Get Out Of Town". At the beep, engage the rifle targets R1 -R3 with a triple tap from either direction. Take your rifle and move to position 2, with your pistols, double tap the pistol targets P1 - P5 from either direction. Pick up the shot gun and knock down the 4 shotgun targets SG1 - SG4 right to left.
"Marisol" Rifle - 10 rounds Pistol - 10 rounds Shotgun - 6+ rounds Stage Set: Rifle - Polish Plate Rack Pistol - 5 circles Shotgun - 2 spring loaded shotgun poppers Story: Marisol is kept against her will by Ramon Rojo in a little house at the edge of San Miguel. A half dozen of Ramon's best men keep an eye on Marisol while Ramon is out robbing a Federales gold shipment. The "man with no name" plans to free her and return her to her husband and child, but first he must deal with Ramon's men. Start: Shotgun staged at the table at position two. Procedure: To start the timer say "It's Time to Leave San Miguel". Engage the 3 pistol targets P1-P3 with 5 rounds on three targets, each target must be engaged a least once. Repeat with the second pistol. With your rifle engage the Polish Plate Rack. Ten second bonus if you remove all ten plates without dropping the end weights. Stage your rifle and using your shotgun engage the four shotgun targets outside left, outside right, inside left, inside right. ![]() "Gophers in the Garden" ( NOTE! The gopher stage will not be timed. Every shooter will be given a time of 30 seconds. So your score will not depend upon shooting fast but rather shooting accurately. Note that if you knock down all the gophers with six shots left and hit the bonus target six times you will end up with a score of zero if you have not hit any vegetables. Rifle - ten rounds Handguns - ten rounds Shotgun - 6 rounds You�ve planted a nice garden out where the old corral was located and the turnips, carrots and beans are looking good. You head out to hoe some weeds and whoa and behold the garden has been invaded by whole passel of gophers! Since you always go heeled you commence to wipe out gophers. Under no circumstances do you want to shoot your prize winning punkin. It�s a sure winner at the county fair and first prize is $15.00. Fifteen second penalty for any HIT on the pumpkin. (only one penalty per stage) Avoid your wife�s tomatoes,. Five second penalty for any tomatoes knocked off the plant. Finally, there is the large gourd you�ve been saving to build a birdhouse. Ten point penalty for hitting the gourd. Pistols loaded 5 rounds each, hammers on empty chamber, holstered. Rifle loaded with 10 rounds hammer on the empty chamber staged on gun rest.. Shotgun open and empty, staged on the rest with six shells to be loaded from your person. Start holding the hoe in both hands. Say your line �Eat lead you varmints!� At the buzzer place the hoe in the gun rack and using the firearms in any order you wish you commence to shooting gophers. There will be a 5 second penalty for each gopher left standing when you are done shooting. Once you begin shooting a firearm you must continue shooting it until all it�s rounds are fired. A gopher knocked down in any way is a kill. Hits on gophers that do not knock them down are not kills. If, after all the gophers are dead you have any rounds left shoot at the bonus target. A five second bonus for each hit. All shooting must be done standing from within the rectangle marked on the ground. Irregardless of what category you are competing in you may shoot the handgun using two hands.
